Foodie Updates

All kinds of food related posts, just because I am so overwhelmed by gluttony. There will be recipes, tips, histories, science, random musings, photos, ideas, reposts, other people's food blogs.....as long as it has something to do with food. It would make it's way here. Feel free to comment and ask me anything food related. This would be material for future posts. =]

Spiced macadamia nuts and cider cocktail

Made some spiced macadamia nuts since I manage to buy some that was reduced and have been craving for some macadamia nuts. Not sure what it would taste like but it’s really delicious. It’s a bit sweet and salty, and a hint of warmth but it’s not overpowering. I didn’t have all the exact spices they required. I just tossed in whole coriander seeds and cardamon seeds, instead of the powdered form. Curry powder instead of garam marsala. Lemon juice instead of lime juice. I just noticed I forgot the black pepper but it’s fine. =D

Original recipe here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/spiced_macadamia_nuts_76146

To go I made myself a cider cocktail. Just cider, orange juice, lemon and mint. I think I might add in some cranberry syrup and sugared cranberry I made some time back.

Was inspired by my friend’s blogpost about lime flowers in Thailand. Unfortunately my work isn’t as delicate. Time to peel more clementines….

Ah, if anyone outside the UK never had Jaffa cakes before or can’t get any, you should try to make them! =D Looks relatively easy. =] Good Luck!
